Famous Painters: The Top 3 Most Famous Painters of All Time

Our world has been blessed with the genius and talent of so many gifted artists that have given us the incredible master pieces that have motivated and inspired, not just an era, but for so long after their brushes have laid their final strokes. As it is true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it would be impossible to select just a few and present them as the best without attracting fierce debate, of which there could not ever be a winner.

Here I have compiled a short reference to present the top 3 most famous painters of all time.

Leonardo Da Vinci (1452-1519)- Renaissance It is without debate that the number 1 spot belongs to no other than Leonardo Da Vinci. Often referred to as the father of Renaissance, and a master of perspective, the influence of Leonardo Da Vinci today extends far beyond the realm of artistic endeavor.
Inspired and encouraged by growing up in an environment rich in scholarly flavor, Da Vinci created only six major works in painting. All six of this works are masterpieces of significance. Da Vinci is renowned for his work in such fields as architecture, engineering, natural science mathematics and geometry.
Leonardo became the first painter, architect, and engineer for King Francis 1st in France. It was the King himself at his side on the 2nd of May, 1519 when he died.

The year 1971 was one of the most prosperous and happy years in Lebanon. At that year in particular, political calm and stability was prevailent in Lebanon, many tourists came to visit the country in that year.Numerous cultural events took place .Many plays, operettes and songs, performed by famous artists were mostly produced in 1971 ,Perhaps ,the most remarkable event in that year, was the election of Miss Lebanon ,Georgina Rizk as Miss Universe for 1971.I scanned here ,some photos from old magazines dating from 1971 .My aim is to give a quick glimpse to newer generations about our country before the 1975 war. Lebanon was beautiful, prosperous and peaceful at that time. The conclusion that must be deduced is a simple fact or reality . Lebanon is a small country, not programmed at all [software and hardware] to be in the front line or participate in any struggles in the region [even if the cause of the struggle was ,noble, just, fair, and a religious duty ].The role of Lebanon in the region should only be a cultural role.A place where all religious groups and people from different ethnic origins live peacefully together and all of them feel at home .Lebanon must produce music, culture, books, good thought , tolerance, become a center for biodiversity,a paradise for song birds,a main center for tourist attraction and above all, must refrain from being a part of any regional conflict. I know quite well that saying the truth may not be tolerated by many radicals and ideologically programmed persons[ Islamists and pan Arabism ideologists for example ].Unfortunately, Lebanon today became a [ bird hunting ] land [ about one third of the population are active bird hunters ,altering the long established biological ecosystems], smuggled weapons ,terrorism ,terrorists, car bombs, vocal politicians arguing on trival issues, incompatible ideologies ,warriors of different sorts and names, all are present in my country .This place became anything but Lebanon that we knew in 1971,a form of hell,or a large [assfoureyyi] or mental disease institution at most.Foreingn powers cannot achieve their goals in Lebanon without the aid of local agents.Unfortunately, local agents are numerous, distributed among all sacterian groups [ I hope to be wrong ].We must admit, the ailments of Lebanon are not a mild common cold, but a dangerous form of cancer that must be cured immediately. My request to the Lebanese people would consist mostly of 3 issues :1.Lebanon is not programmed at all [ software and hardware if we use computer language ] to face other powers militarily [and cannot do so in the future due to various reasons ],so ,Lebanon must be a strictly neutral country on the Swiss model.Stop importing incompatible ideologies from neibouring countries in the region.2.Syria and Lebanon are [ one people ] in two recently constructed states, people in the 2 countries are united by local traditions, music, cusine, ethnic origin, same dialect, families, etc. [as in the case of Greece and Cyprus for example ],so Lebanese people cannot be totally independent from Syria as some radicals call for.The truth is simply a reality that must be put into consideration [whether we like it or not ] , both countries are one cultural unit called formerly [Northern Levant or Northern Syria ].Intimate relations ,utmost co operation and a certain degree of union between Syria and Lebanon is a vital and mandatory issue.I mean here [the Syrian people and the Syrian state not the Syrian ruling regime ].3.If we aim to rebuild our country,we must first know its weak points and its strong ones.We must be ourselves .We demolished our beautiful country in a meaningless war for 17 years,we must not allow this to happen again.Anyhow, the presented photos of Beirut from 1971 are as follows:1.,2. Martyr square [Sahat al Shohadaa or El Burg ] in late 19713.Phoenecia hotel in 19714.Flower shop in Beirut downtown 19715.Nahr Beirut [ late 1971 ]6.A petrol station in Beirut [late 1971]7.Picnic at Rauche [1971]Tne rest of the photos are partitions or excerpts from magazines dating from August 1971,including advertisements at that time, the media coverage of the winning of Georgina Rizk of the title of Miss Universe, local cultural events, beauty concerts in small towns فيطرون [Faitroun],reviews of operettes [Dr.Walid Ghelmeyyi operette known afterwords as [men Layaleena] that starred Fadwa Obeid and Joseph Azar ],social occasions, etc. The accompanying music is a song of Sabah dating from that era, titled [balloutatek ballouta] composed by the Late Philemone Wahbe.Video from: http://nl.youtube.com/user/bak...

Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890)- Impressionist The works of Vincent Van Gogh are perhaps the most easily recognized and remembered of any artist, famous or not. Although he often created his master pieces with everyday objects, such as sunflowers and an empty chair, his art is intensely emotional.
Vincent Van Gogh was born the son of a pastor and grew up in a cultured and religious atmosphere. He first worked in a book store and as an art salesman before becoming a preacher for which he was latter dismissed for being overzealous. In 1880, he turned to the study of art with the determination to give joy by creating beauty.
Van Gogh suffered severe bouts of depression and has been described as a "difficult companion", an understated comment when considering that during one of his "difficult" episodes he attempted to attack his closest friend and peer, Gauguin, with a razor. The attack was successfully defended but Van Gogh then famously cut off a part of his own ear.
Van Gogh's depression and tantrums worsened and he began to suffer fits of madness and was admitted to an asylum.
In 1890, two months after his release from the asylum Vincent Van Gogh died by suicide, only ever having sold one painting. Over 200 years after his death, or deeply tragic life, the works of Vincent Van Gogh are immortal.

Salvador Dali- (1904-1989)- Surrealism The paintings of Salvador Dali depict strange hallucinatory characters of burning giraffes and seemingly melted wax watches. Dali described his own works as "hand-painted dream photographs". Dali is famous for his many talents apart from painting, sculpture, jewelry design, book illustration as well as theatre work, making the first ever surrealistic film, "Un chien andalou" in 1929 and even writing a novel, "Hidden Faces" in 1944.
Although Dali is best known as representing the surrealist movement, he skillfully developed his own deviation which he named "critical paranoia". Dali's theory supporting critical paranoia is that one should cultivate delusion while awareness and will suspended in thought.
If the sum of a man is his character, one would still be confused as to who Salvador Dali was. He cannot possibly be described in few short paragraphs. Just when you think you can understand him in nature there emerges one more perspective.
