Famous Painters: The Top 3 Most Famous Painters of All Time

Our world has been blessed with the genius and talent of so many gifted artists that have given us the incredible master pieces that have motivated and inspired, not just an era, but for so long after their brushes have laid their final strokes. As it is true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it would be impossible to select just a few and present them as the best without attracting fierce debate, of which there could not ever be a winner.

Here I have compiled a short reference to present the top 3 most famous painters of all time.

Leonardo Da Vinci (1452-1519)- Renaissance It is without debate that the number 1 spot belongs to no other than Leonardo Da Vinci. Often referred to as the father of Renaissance, and a master of perspective, the influence of Leonardo Da Vinci today extends far beyond the realm of artistic endeavor.
Inspired and encouraged by growing up in an environment rich in scholarly flavor, Da Vinci created only six major works in painting. All six of this works are masterpieces of significance. Da Vinci is renowned for his work in such fields as architecture, engineering, natural science mathematics and geometry.
Leonardo became the first painter, architect, and engineer for King Francis 1st in France. It was the King himself at his side on the 2nd of May, 1519 when he died.

A short documentary outlining the work of Wrought Artworks, which was established by Wendie McCaffley & Guido Gouverneur in 1987. They run their business beneath the imposing trusses of one of the world's great Victorian Industrial cathedrals - The Eveleigh Locomotive Workshop. With their team of assistants and apprentices they undertake specialized metalwork projects. The project may entail design, forging, casting, fabrication, machining or polishing. They have also restored a number of well known heritage items around Sydney's key areas. The motto of Wrought Artworks is to produce or restore work to the same high standards of the past.Old-fashioned quality today.

Well done should be kept for all young Australians who will never see or appreciate the work done to keep this workshop alive

the entire rent freeargument is a foil by Robert Domm to deflect attention from the consent conditions. When I go the workshop will never be run by anyone ever again unless the ATP/RWA acknowledge that there is a commitment to preserve the shop as operational for the duration of the 99 year head lease and that the tenant is exempt from short term leases and comercial rental. In 1995 State rail valued the blacksmith shop area at $175000/annum [that means year] with inflation who could pay that?

INKahootz I[Guido] have asked TAFE to move in and put it to Mr Montgomery former general manager that TAFE would be able to use auditorium and bays 1 & 2 north to teach smithing but they do not want to leave ULTIMO.In case you didnt know or haven't tried it moving a blacksmithing shop is a bit more stressful than dropping your nail fileRemember bays 1 & 2 north are up for grabsgo for it guys and they have been vacant for twenty years so is Cokatto island blacksmiths shop complete with views

You are all wrong. These blacksmiths are the only ones who could properly look-after and use this priceless equipment.Remember Iemma is a disciple of the corrupt Richardson and protege of corrupt Carr. Will Iemma, Costa and Sartor work for Macquarie Bank after their ripping-off the Public Assets is concluded? Are they receiving pay from Macquarie Bank now, like Carr? Save the workshops at Eveleigh as it is. Keep Guido and his company at Redfern because this IS in the Public Interest.

How can you buy your own 100 year old heritage blacksmithing equipment? He's looked after those incredible machines on his own dime for the past 17 years, buddy.

Good comment Daemonyates. It would be there perfect space to incorporate the Blacksmithing course... in fact, they ULTIMO TAFE course already has full access to the facilities at the Eveleigh Workshop. My mother studied blacksmithing at the Ultimo campus for three years and was able to use the workshop and the equipment with the assistance of Wrought Artworks. Most of the apprentices working there have all studied at the campus and are offered positions every year to keep working there.

I think the community would benefit from the TAFE blacksmithing classes being relocated into that space. It would be great to have the classes taught in an environment that has long been an institution to the trades. All of the equiptment is there, and they are currently in a tiny, ill suited space. If it's the communities interest that counts, then I think that is the solution. Used as a resource to the wider community, not just to a private business.
Inkahootz (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
The maintenance Wrought Artworks conducts is absolutely nominal. In fact, the continual use of this "extremely valuable" equiptment in the day to day running of the workshop and consequent neglect, is of detriment to its conservation. ATP does not exist because of the operating workshop, and will thrive AFTER you have left.
michaelmortlock (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
This issue of 'rent-free' that the ATP and RWA have put up against Wrought Artwork is sick, because they PAY to look after all of that amazing old machinery. The ATP even squandered over 300 grand of the governments money which was meant to help restore this equipment too. Why don't they take Wrought Artworks rent out of that 300 grand which disappeared?
wobjob (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I think you are missing the point. There was an agreement Wrought Artworks made with the government almost two decades ago, which outlines that they could run their business rent free if they took care of the extremely valuable HERITAGE blacksmithing equipment, making sure it didn't fall apart! WHICH THEY HAVE BEEN DOING EVER SINCE!
Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890)- Impressionist The works of Vincent Van Gogh are perhaps the most easily recognized and remembered of any artist, famous or not. Although he often created his master pieces with everyday objects, such as sunflowers and an empty chair, his art is intensely emotional.
Vincent Van Gogh was born the son of a pastor and grew up in a cultured and religious atmosphere. He first worked in a book store and as an art salesman before becoming a preacher for which he was latter dismissed for being overzealous. In 1880, he turned to the study of art with the determination to give joy by creating beauty.
Van Gogh suffered severe bouts of depression and has been described as a "difficult companion", an understated comment when considering that during one of his "difficult" episodes he attempted to attack his closest friend and peer, Gauguin, with a razor. The attack was successfully defended but Van Gogh then famously cut off a part of his own ear.
Van Gogh's depression and tantrums worsened and he began to suffer fits of madness and was admitted to an asylum.
In 1890, two months after his release from the asylum Vincent Van Gogh died by suicide, only ever having sold one painting. Over 200 years after his death, or deeply tragic life, the works of Vincent Van Gogh are immortal.

Salvador Dali- (1904-1989)- Surrealism The paintings of Salvador Dali depict strange hallucinatory characters of burning giraffes and seemingly melted wax watches. Dali described his own works as "hand-painted dream photographs". Dali is famous for his many talents apart from painting, sculpture, jewelry design, book illustration as well as theatre work, making the first ever surrealistic film, "Un chien andalou" in 1929 and even writing a novel, "Hidden Faces" in 1944.
Although Dali is best known as representing the surrealist movement, he skillfully developed his own deviation which he named "critical paranoia". Dali's theory supporting critical paranoia is that one should cultivate delusion while awareness and will suspended in thought.
If the sum of a man is his character, one would still be confused as to who Salvador Dali was. He cannot possibly be described in few short paragraphs. Just when you think you can understand him in nature there emerges one more perspective.
